With Plug & Charge technology, the bZ simplifies the charging experience by eliminating the need for separate authentication apps.

Under optimal conditions, fast charging can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 30 minutes. The AWD models now deliver 338 combined system horsepower a significant jump from the previous 214 hp – enabling a 0-96 kmph sprint in just under 5 seconds. The FWD versions see their output rise to 221 hp from 201 hp, supported by upgraded eAxles featuring silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors.

The updated Toyota bZ features subtle exterior enhancements, including redesigned lighting elements and color-matched finishes that create a sportier and more aerodynamic look. Inside, the cabin sees a major refresh with a larger 14-inch multimedia touchscreen, a new digital instrument cluster, and customizable ambient lighting offering 64 color options. Additional interior highlights include dual front wireless charging pads and premium soft-touch materials for a more refined driving experience.

The 2026 Toyota bZ introduces enhanced regenerative braking, now controlled through steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, allowing drivers to fine-tune energy recovery in real-time. To improve charging efficiency in colder conditions, the bZ is equipped with a battery thermal management system that includes a water-to-water heat exchanger and a heat pump for climate control. Additionally, heated and ventilated seats help maintain cabin comfort while minimizing energy consumption in low temperatures.
