Jennifer Judith Jones, born to Larry and Carol Jones, both avid curlers, discovered her passion for the sport at a young age. Her mother, Larry, began teaching her at 11, but Jennifer’s interest had already sparked during her time at a daycare at the St. Vital Curling Club.
She attended Vanier School in South Winnipeg from kindergarten to grade 8 before moving on to Windsor Park Collegiate. Jones excelled in both volleyball and curling during this time.
In 1991, she achieved her first provincial junior title while playing third for Jill Stasub. This success led the team to represent Manitoba at the 1991 Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Leduc, Alberta.
