SSC Stenographer Requirement 2025 Details

A total of 261 vacancies have been announced under the SSC Stenographer 2025 notification. The recruitment includes:

• Stenographer Grade ‘C’

• Stenographer Grade ‘D’

Educational Qualification

To be eligible for the SSC Stenographer posts, candidates must have:

• Passed 12th Standard (Higher Secondary) or equivalent exam from a recognized Board or University on or before 01 August 2025.

SSC Stenographer Requirement 2025 : Age Limit (As on 01-08-2025)

For Grade ‘C’ Posts:

• Minimum Age: 18 years

• Maximum Age: 30 years

• Candidates must be born between 02 August 1995 and 01 August 2007 (both dates inclusive)

For Grade ‘D’ Posts:

• Minimum Age: 18 years

• Maximum Age: 27 years

• Candidates must be born between 02 August 1998 and 01 August 2007

Age Relaxation (as per government norms):

• SC/ST: 5 years

• OBC: 3 years

• PwBD (Unreserved): 10 years

• PwBD (OBC): 13 years

• PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years

• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service

SSC Stenographer Application Fee 2025

• General/OBC Candidates: ₹100/-

• SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen: No Fee

Selection Process for SSC Stenographer 2025

The recruitment process for SSC Stenographer posts will consist of the following stages:

1. Computer-Based Examination (CBT)

   • General Intelligence & Reasoning – 50 questions (50 marks)

   • General Awareness – 50 questions (50 marks)

   • English Language & Comprehension – 100 questions (100 marks)

   • Total: 200 questions (200 marks)

   • Duration: 2 hours

2. Skill Test in Stenography

   • Grade C: Dictation at 100 words per minute

   • Grade D: Dictation at 80 words per minute

   • Transcription time will vary for Hindi and English mediums

Note: Skill Test is qualifying in nature. Final merit will be based on the performance in CBT.

SSC Stenographer Salary 2025

• Stenographer Grade ‘C’: Pay Level 6 (Rs. 35,400 – Rs. 1,12,400)

• Stenographer Grade ‘D’: Pay Level 4 (Rs. 25,500 – Rs. 81,100)
